Sopore, Jul 06 (KNO): Industrialists at the Industrial Estate Sopore in north Kashmir on Monday raised concerns over sanitation, drainage and security infrastructure during an interaction with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, S. F. Hamid, who assured time-bound measures to address the issues. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the DC visited the Industrial Estate, spread over more than 80 kanals, and held a detailed meeting with industrial unit holders and representatives to review the estate's functioning and discuss its development needs. During the interaction, industrialists flagged inadequate sanitation, poor drainage and the need for proper fencing to secure the premises. They urged the district administration to improve basic infrastructure to ensure a better working environment for industrial units. Responding to the concerns, DC Hamid directed officials to facilitate a Memorandum of Understanding between SICOP and the Municipal Council Sopore to ensure regular sanitation services after payment of maintenance charges. He called for the preparation of estimates for drainage and fencing works, stating that both projects would be taken up within the current financial year. The Deputy Commissioner said the administration is committed to strengthening industrial infrastructure and resolving the genuine concerns of entrepreneurs. "A well-developed industrial ecosystem is essential for promoting entrepreneurship, generating employment opportunities and boosting the local economy," he said. President of the Estates, Junaid Janwari, termed the Deputy Commissioner's visit an important opportunity to discuss the key issues, challenges and development needs of the Industrial Estate. He appreciated the DC's interaction with the industrial community and his commitment to supporting industrial growth in the district. "We hope for continued cooperation between the administration and industrial stakeholders for the overall development of the industrial sector," Janwari said—(KNO)
